Using Frames On Your Own

Frames can be a useful Web development tool when they are properly implemented.

Review your site and consider whether frames may be necessary or if you can gain the functionality you need from other elements, such as Library items (covered in Lesson 12) or Templates (covered in Lesson 13). For additional practice, you might want to develop two versions of a portion of your site—one with frames and one without—and compare them.

When developing pages with frames, remember to use the accessibility options that Dreamweaver will prompt you to include, and always develop no-frames content for browsers or devices that are not capable of displaying frames-based Web pages.
