Two-Finger Gestures

Here are some useful gestures you can perform using two fingers on the MacBook Air trackpad:

bullet.tif Dragging. Move the mouse pointer over an object, use one finger to click and hold down the trackpad, and slide a second finger along the trackpad to move the object.

bullet.tif Right-clicking. Move the mouse pointer over an object and then tap or click using two fingers.

bullet.tif Scrolling. Tap or click inside the window you want to scroll, and then slide two fingers along the trackpad to move the window content in the direction you move your fingers.

OS X Mountain Lion and Lion make a crucial distinction between “scrolling a window” and “moving a window’s content.” For example, if you’re at the top of a web page and you want to see more of the page, you can either scroll down or move the content up. By default, Lion assumes the latter, so you slide two fingers up to see more of the page. If you prefer to scroll down, open System Preferences, click Trackpad, click Scroll & Zoom, and then deselect the Scroll direction: natural check box.
