Appendix F. GENERAL MIDI INSTRUMENTS LIST

In addition to the Software Instruments that come with GarageBand, you can also create your own Software Instruments that access the QuickTime MIDI music instruments, also referred to now as the QuickTime Music Synthesizer. To do this, you need to set the Generator type of the instrument to DLSMusicDevice. Then you can use your musical keyboard or other MIDI device to specify the instrument from the general MIDI list. There are plenty to choose from, so it would be handy to have a reference list.
