29.7. Summary
File sharing is one of the key uses of Mac OS X Server, and in this chapter, I explained how to share files securely on your network using a variety of protocols. After discussing the basics of secure file sharing, I covered each of the available protocols in turn: Apple Filing Protocol (AFP), Server Message Block (SMB), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and Network File System (NFS). I wrapped up the chapter with a look at how to designate a folder or volume as a share point and how to configure it so only certain users and groups can share particular sets of files.
