5.6. Summary
In this chapter, I described the Keychain, Mac OS X's system-wide mechanism for storing and delivering usernames, passwords, and other private data. I explained the design of the Keychain and what information it can hold, including the little-used secure notes. I showed what to do when an application requests access to your keychain, and I discussed the special connections between a keychain and Safari. Finally, I offered a tour of Keychain Access, Apple's utility for managing keychains and directly accessing their information.
