Chapter 12. Digging Deep as an Admin
For years, Microsoft and, yes, Apple have sold computers by telling people that they're easy to use. While that is certainly truer when it comes to Macs than it is for Windows PCs, it's still not completely factual. Computers are complex beasts, and even such "easy" operating systems as Mac OS X have to be administered in some way. This chapter will cover some of the administrative tasks that Mac users have to deal with: monitoring what their Macs are doing, automating tasks, improving your network connections by changing DNS, and making your hardware work a little bit better.
