Setting the Server to Autorestart

If you want your server to get back up and running after a power failure or a system freeze, you can tell Mac OS X Server to start up automatically:

  1. While logged on to the server Mac as an administrator, open System Preferences.
  2. Click the Energy Saver icon and then select the Restart Automatically After a Power Failure check box and/or the Restart Automatically If the Computer Freezes check box.

For the latter setting, the power management hardware restarts five minutes after a kernel panic or a freeze.
