Address Book is a contact management application that enables you to keep track of the names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, Web URLs, and similar information for people and businesses that you know. Data you enter into Address Book can be grouped, sorted, searched, and printed. When you search your Mac using the Spotlight search menu on the menu bar (page 100), search results can include Address Book contact records.

The information you store in Address Book can be used by Mail (page 418) to send email messages, iChat (page 427) to send instant messages, FaceTime ...
