Name
SplitForks
Synopsis
SplitForks { -u | -s | [-v] pathname
}
Copies the resource fork and HFS attributes from a file named filename
into a separate file named ._
filename
, equivalent to an AppleDouble Header file. The original file retains the resource fork and HFS metadata as well.
If pathname
refers to a file, that file’s resource fork and metadata are split out. If pathname
is a directory, SplitForks does a recursive descent into the directory, working on every file within it.
FixupResourceForks undoes the actions of SplitForks.
Options
- -s
Strip resource fork from source after splitting. By default, the resource fork is left in the file.
- -u
Print a usage statement to standard output.
- -v
Enable verbose output.
