service --list
service { --test-if-available | --test-if-configured-on } service
service service { start | stop }A shell script used to list, start, and stop network services. Primarily, this is an interface to services managed by xinetd, but it also includes support for Postfix (with a service name of smtp) and for receipt of faxes (fax-receive).
Options
- --list
Print a list of services available for management to standard output.
- --test-if-available
Return 0 if the specified service is available on the system; 1 if not.
- --test-if-configured-on
Return 0 if the specified service is currently configured to run; 1 if not.
