Standby mode
On the Mac, it’s called Sleep, but it’s the same idea. You make a Mac laptop sleep by
closing the lid. You make a Mac desktop sleep by choosing 
→ Sleep, or just walking
away; the Mac will go to sleep on its own, according to the settings in the Energy
Saver panel of System Preferences.
