Control panels

There are no control panels in Mac OS X. Instead, there’s a program called System Preferences that handles the various hardware and software settings formerly configured with control panels. Choose Control panels System Preferences, or click the System Preferences icon on the Dock. (System Preferences is also in the Applications folder.)
