Synopsis
- Change the default email client and web browser from Mail and Safari, respectively?
To select a different email client:
Launch Mail (
/Applications
).Select Mail→Preferences from the menu bar.
Click on the General icon in the toolbar.
From the pop-up menu next to “Default Email Reader,” select a different email application, if you have another installed on your system.
To select a different web browser:
Launch Safari (
/Applications
).Select Safari→Preferences from the menu bar.
Click on the General icon in the toolbar.
From the pop-up menu next to “Default Web Browser,” select a different web browser, if you have another installed on your system.

)→Safari→Preferences→General→Save downloaded files to→select a location on your system where you’d like to save the files- Change Safari’s default home page?
Safari→Preferences→General→Home page→enter a URL in the text box
- Turn on web sharing?
System Preferences→Sharing→Services→click on the checkbox next to Personal Web Sharing to start this service. Enabling this service allows others to access your Sites folder (
