Tip

Unfortunately, Mac OS X doesn’t alert you when there is an incoming fax; instead, you need to check the folder to which you want faxes saved if you think one may have arrived.

To solve this oversight, you can download and install the Fax Alert script, created by Rainer Brockerhoff (http://www.brockerhoff.net/fai/index.html). Once installed, this Folder Action script pops open a dialog window to let you know when a fax is received in the folder you specify.
