Synopsis
kill [option
]IDs
This is the /bin/kill
command; there is also a
shell command of the same name that works similarly. Send a signal to
terminate one or more process IDs. You must own
the process or be a privileged user. If no signal is specified,
TERM
is sent.
Options

List the signal names. (Used by itself.)

signal
Send signal signal to the given process or process group. The signal number (from
/usr/include/sys/signal.h
) or name (fromkill
-l
). With a signal number of 9, the kill is absolute.-
