Keyboard & Mouse preferences: Adjust the response

For relatively minor adjustments, don't forget about the “Keyboard & Mouse” system preferences. The “Key Repeat Rate” determines how fast a key that is held down repeats itself across the page.

If you're a heavy-handed typist and find extra letters and spaces in your documents, tell the keys to wait a little longer before repeating—use a longer “Delay Until Repeat,” or turn off the repeat altogether.
