Workflows are the Finished Products

A “workflow” consists of a series of “actions” (actions are explained on the previous pages). When you put a number of actions together, you have a workflow that performs a complex task.

Each Automator window is a separate workflow. You'll drag the actions from the Action pane into the large workflow pane on the right, as described on the previous and following pages. You can copy, paste, or delete actions in the workflow, and you can change the order of the actions.

Once you create a workflow that successfully does what it's supposed to do, you can save it in two different ways: As a workflow file, which is a document, or as a stand-alone application.
