Take a Look at Dashboard

Dashboard provides quick access to information customized just for you, displayed in the form of widgets. Dashboard pops up in a split second only when you want it. With the click of a button, it goes away just as quickly. Below is an example of my Dashboard, with the Widgets Bar showing (the Widgets Bar doesn't appear until you ask for it; see page 336).

When you activate Dashboard, the widgets instantly appear on top of a greyed-out Desktop, on top of any windows or applications you have open. Do what you need, then click in any blank area to send them all away. Use the Widgets Bar to add and delete items, as explained ...
