Reminder: where to get the information

Your email provider's web site should include the information for the incoming mail server, user name, and password. Your ISP's web site should provide the SMTP (outgoing mail server) information.

If you have a free webmail account like Yahoo or Hotmail (which is Microsoft), you probably can't set up Mail to check your mail. However, the free services often have a paid option as well, and with the paid service you can usually get the specs to set up your account in the Mail program. But if you have to pay for it, why not get a .Mac account (see Lesson 11)?
