To limit applications and activities

1.
Make sure the user is logged out, then open the “Accounts” preferences.
2.
If the lock icon in the bottom-left corner is locked, single-click on it and enter the Admin name and password. Click OK.
3.
Select the user in the left-hand pane, then click the “Parental Controls” tab.
4.
Put a check in the box next to “Finder.app & System,” then click its “Configure…” button. The pane shown below drops down.
5.
Check the button, “Some Limits.” Now use this pane to limit or provide access to the various parts of the Mac.
