To search a PDF
1. | With the PDF document open in front of you, press Command F. Or go to the Edit menu, slide down to “Find,” then choose “Find….” |
2. | A search drawer appears on the side of the document window, as shown below. Type your search word or phrase into the search field. |
3. | As you type, Preview starts finding words that match. The more you type, the narrower the search becomes and the fewer words it finds. |
4. | In the list of results, double-click any one to go directly to that result. Preview will outline the word briefly, as shown below, and then the outline fades to a highlight so you can see the word. |
5. | To find the next occurrence of the word or phrase, press Command G, or double-click on any other result in the list. |
