Add breaks

You can add three different kinds of breaks to a TextEdit document.

Page break This tells TextEdit to start the next sentence at the top of the next page. This is handy for dividing chapters or sections.

Line break This is exactly the same as using the Shift Return. It ensures that your line will always end at that place, but it will not add any paragraph features that you may have added, such as space before or after, indents, etc.

Paragraph break This is exactly the same as hitting a Return. Your line of text will end at that point and a new paragraph will start. If your formatting is set so a new paragraph has an indent or an outdent, it will appear.
