Burn Folders in the Finder

A great new feature in Tiger is the burn folder. You drag items into this special folder, and when you're ready, you burn the contents to a disc. The wonderful thing is that you can collect items you want to burn without having to actually burn the disc at that moment—you can collect files over the period of a project and when finished, you have a folder ready to back up onto a disc.

When you drag files into a burn folder, your Mac automatically creates aliases of those files (see page 408 for details on aliases). This means that after you burn the disc, you can throw away the entire folder without destroying any original ...
