Customize the Dock
When you first turn on your Mac, the Dock is sitting along the bottom at a certain size. But like everything else on the Mac, you can customize it to suit yourself. Would you prefer the Dock along the side of your screen? Would you like it to disappear altogether and only appear when you need it? Are the icons too small or too big? You can adjust everything.
There are three ways to customize the Dock: You can use the System Preferences, the Dock options in the Apple menu, or the secret pop-up menu in the Dock itself.
