Audio chat
Talk, literally talk, with other people. Make sure you have a microphone built in or connected to your Mac, or an iSight or other video camera attached. Your Buddies will display little telephone icons next to their pictures if they are able to audio chat back to you.
To audio chat, single-click on a Buddy name, then click the telephone icon at the bottom of the Buddy List.
If your Buddy doesn't have a microphone to chat back with you, select his name, then go to the Buddies menu and choose, “Invite to One-Way Audio Chat.” Your friend will hear you, but will have to send typed instant messages back.
