Saving Documents as PDF Files

PDF, which stands for Portable Document Format, is a standard file format that can be opened and read by Preview and Adobe Reader. PDF is a good format for distributing a formatted document when you’re not sure what software the document’s recipient has. Most computer users have some kind of PDF reader software; if they don’t, they can download Adobe Reader for free.

The Print dialog offers two methods for saving a document as a PDF file: the quick way and the almost-as-quick way.
