Macintoshes (and their owners) tend to be social creatures, longing to communicate. To this end, each Mac comes equipped with a 56 Kbps modem and an Ethernet port. For an additional $79 to $99, you can purchase an AirPort wireless networking card, which opens up some exciting new possibilities, including sitting in a Starbucks (or other Internet hot spot) and using the Internet there on your Mac portable. Or perhaps someday you’ll come to my house—bring steaks—and you can sit out on the porch and check your email while I’m checking the barbecue.
