I’m not one to tempt fate, so I recommend using external FireWire drives to add additional storage, which have the added bonus that you can easily use them on any machine with a FireWire port. Here’s some more information on how to add storage.

Just plug it in. Seriously, if it’s a FireWire or Iomega drive, your Mac probably has the proper drivers installed, and the drive will just work. I don’t recommend USB hard drives to use with Macs as they will be too slow, so always buy FireWire.

Iomega Zip drives plug into the USB port on the Mac, but the drive speeds are slow enough that USB works fine for them.
