The Easy Way or the Hard Way—You Choose

Moving your files and data from your old PC to your new Mac sounds far worse than it actually is. Many of the popular Mac applications have Windows counterparts, and the files you create in the Windows version of an application usually open easily on the Mac side, and the same is true going from the Mac version to Windows. Microsoft, for example, has done a good job of ensuring that you can open and work with a Word document in either the Windows or Mac edition of the word-processing application. Adobe and Macromedia have taken similar approaches with their cross-platform applications, so files you create on one platform will work just fine on the other.
