Drive Setup

Drive Setup is a utility that enables you to initialize a hard disk, install or update a disk driver, and test a disk.

Tip

Drive Setup is not compatible with all hard disks. It should, however, work with the hard disk inside your Macintosh.

Tip

You should use the disk utility software that came with your external hard disk, Zip or Jaz disk, or other storage device to prepare that device's media for use.

To launch Drive Setup

Open the Drive Setup icon (Figure 57) in the Drive Setup f folder inside the Utilities folder (Figure 53) in the Applications (Mac OS 9) folder. The Drive Setup window appears. It displays all storage devices connected to your computer (Figure 58).
