Software Update

Mac OS 9 introduced Software Update, a control panel that you can use to automatically update your system software.

Tip

You must have Internet access to use the Software Update control panel.

To manually check for software updates

1.	Choose Apple menu > Control Panels > Software Update (Figure 3) to display the Software Update control panel window (Figure 99). Figure 99. The Software Update control panel.
2.	A dialog box like the one in Figure 100 appears. Click OK. Figure 100. Use this dialog box to confirm that you really do want to check for updates.
