SimpleText
SimpleText (Figure 1) is a basic text editing application that comes with Mac OS. SimpleText lets you:

Create, open, edit, and print text documents, including the "Read Me" files that come with many applications.
Open and print PICT, GIF, and other graphic format documents and QuickTime movies.
In this chapter, I tell you how to use Simple-Text to create, edit, format, open, and save documents.
Tip
QuickTime Player, which also comes with Mac OS, offers more features than SimpleText for working with QuickTime movies. I tell you about QuickTime and QuickTime Player in Chapter 6.
