QuickTime, QuickTime Player, & PictureViewer

QuickTime is a video and audio technology developed by Apple Computer, Inc. Mac OS uses the QuickTime System extension to understand files in QuickTime format.

QuickTime Player and PictureViewer are applications you can use to work with QuickTime and graphics files. You can find these programs in the QuickTime folder (Figure 42) inside the Applications folder (Figure 3) on your hard disk. Mac OS 9 also includes the QuickTime Plugin file for your Web browser so you can view QuickTime files on the Web.
