Indicator Lights
The iBook uses two different lights to communicate about its hardware:
Charge Lighting. When the iBook is plugged into AC power, its power adapter port glows green when the battery is fully charged or amber when the battery is being charged.
Beacon Sleep Lighting. When the iBook is sleeping, a light below the display dims and brightens slowly—like the gentle breathing of a sleeping computer. The light is visible whether the computer is open or closed.
Tip
The iBook battery can last up to 6 hours between charges.
Tip
I discuss system sleep in Chapter 2.
