Tip 286Grab Photos and Movies from Your iPhone/iPad

When you attach your iPhone or iPad to your Mac via USB, open Preview and click the File menu. At the bottom of the list you’ll see an option to import from the device. Selecting this will show a new window full of pictures and movies on the phone. You can click and drag individual files (or groups of files selected by holding down Command or Shift) to a Finder window or the desktop, or you can click the Import buttons at the bottom of the screen, in which case a File Save dialog box will open letting you choose a destination. In both cases, a new Preview window will appear showing the pictures as they’re imported.
