8.1 INTRODUCTION

Microstrip antennas are widely used in communication systems. They have several advantages such as low profile, flexibility, light weight, small volume, and low production cost. Compact printed antennas are discussed in journals and books [1–4]. However, small printed antennas suffer from low efficiency.
