Writing Formulas to Support Different Clients

Domino formula language works quite well, in some instances, on the Web. Domino cannot translate its menu to the Web, but can translate menu commands attached to buttons, hot spots, or actions. Some formulas don't translate at all and others have restrictions. Design elements with formulas that work on the Web include these:

  • Action

  • Agent—started with the @Commands for ToolsRunMacro and RunAgent or a URL command

  • Column

  • Computed field value

  • Computed text

  • Default value

  • Event—only the WebQueryOpen and WebQuerySave form events

  • Form

  • Hide properties—action, column, paragraph

  • Hotspot

  • Input translation

  • Input validation

  • Computed subform

  • Keyword field

  • Named element

  • Sections—access and titles

  • Selection

  • Window titles
