Understanding Server Tasks for Web Browsing

To enable your Domino server to act as a Web server, the HTTP task needs to be running. Administrators can enable the HTTP task when the server is first installed or anytime thereafter. After you enable the HTTP task, browser clients can access applications on your Domino server.

There is another task related to Web browsing called DIIOP (Domino Internet Inter-ORB protocol) . DIIOP enables Java applets/applications created with Notes Java classes to access Domino data.
