Troubleshooting Design Locking
If the option to Lock a Design Element is greyed out from the drop-down menu or the Lock option is greyed out after you right-click on the design element, the design locking has not been set up for the current database. For each database to allow for design locking, the Administration server must be set on the Advanced tab of the Database Access Control List dialog box and Allow Design Locking must be enabled on the Design tab of the Database Infobox.
