4.6. Summary

This chapter discusses lossless information hiding schemes for VQ-compressed image. These schemes can be broadly classified into two categories, i.e., information hiding during VQ encoding and information hiding during VQ-index coding. The first category mainly includes MFCVQ-based and SMVQ-based schemes. The first category embeds information during VQ encoding, which can recover the VQ-compressed version after extraction of the embedded information. The second category views the index table as the cover object and embeds information during lossless index coding.
