Jim just started working in the accounting department at an international high-tech company. Coming from a job in the more conservative publishing industry, he was impressed by all the technology people used in their work. The company provided all employees in his division with smartphones or PDAs for instant messaging, accessing the company’s wireless network to read e-mail on the run, and tracking contacts and appointments.
