Growth Models With Multilevel Regression

For researchers interested in studying within-person change in an outcome over the course of several observation points (i.e., trajectories), estimating growth models with multilevel regression is a relatively straightforward yet versatile approach. Detailed descriptions of the basic multilevel model and its applications are presented elsewhere (e.g., Hox, 2002; Raudenbush & Bryk, 2002). More thorough examinations of the use of multilevel regression to model change with longitudinal data are also available (Hedeker & Gibbons, 2006; Singer & Willett, 2003).
