Safety
The main safety hazards associated with lighting on location are:
electrical fire
electric shock
tripping accidents
falling objects/contact with lighting equipment
equipment falling over
lamp explosion
ultraviolet radiation
lifting incorrectly.
Electrical Safety
- Total electric load must be within the capacity of the mains supply/generator.
- All lighting equipment must be properly fused and the correct rating of cable used, as appropriate.
- All lighting equipment should be properly maintained with regular checks of cable and connections and have PAT tested certification (Portable Appliance Test).
- All luminaires should be rigged such that the heat generated cannot do any danger or cause the risk of fire.
