There is not enough space to properly thank all the people who made this book possible, and who have enriched my life during the researching and writing of it. Some people are no longer with us, especially Peter Drucker himself, who had the patience and good humor to sit for several interviews for the book.

Any list would have to start with my wife, Deborah Goodman, for her love and support during the ups and downs of this long process, one that took longer and went through more twists and turns than either of us envisioned.
