In the first Superman movie, Lois Lane asks Superman what he stands for and, quick as a flash, he replies, "Truth, justice and the American way." Although you may not agree with his values, you do have to admit that he was clear about what he stood for and what mattered most to him. Could you do the same? Do you know what you stand for? I hope so, because the answers to these questions make up your values and are the foundation for your decisions.

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Internet book store Amazon.com, spent his time answering these questions and identified his company's values as:

"Work hard. Have fun. Make history."
