Chapter 14. Security and NAT Issues

IN THIS CHAPTER WE’LL TAKE A BRIEF look at the security issues involved in configuring your own Linux router and how you can use your router to improve your overall network security. This is a pretty big topic, so this chapter will mainly serve as an overview rather than an in-depth study. Some of the concepts in this chapter will go a bit beyond routing, including some basics of creating a firewall with ipchains and Netfilter.
