Introduction to Network Planning

Network planning is not a hard and fast science.There are as many theories about planning networks as there are network admins—maybe more if you count admins with multiple personalities.

We’ll try to provide some guidelines that will help you plan your router setup in terms of the rest of your network, but they should be seen as just that—guidelines. Every situation is unique, and you have to decide what works best for you. In other words, your mileage might vary.
