Other Networking Linux 2.4.x Kernel Options

One thing you’ll notice if you’ve compiled several 2.2.x kernels is that not much has changed. Ethernet bridging is no longer considered experimental, and a few options have either been moved around or dropped altogether; but for the most part there aren’t any drastic changes in networking.

ATM Support

One notable addition is ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) support, which is currently in experimental mode. Actually, ATM is (at the time of this writing) still hard to get running for some people and in Alpha or pre-Alpha development.
