5.1. Building a team

In numerous project management classes, building a team for a project is seen as critical. It may be the first thing you consider, even before selecting a specific project.

On the Linux-on-the-mainframe team, you will need people with the right mix of technology skills. This might mean that your team members come from different departments across the company. First, the team will need general IT skills in the form of good system management and control processes. This skill is independent of their technical background and can be provided by people with either a mainframe or a Linux and UNIX background.
