The term thin client acquires modified meanings according to the context of the discussion. Sometimes when we talk about client-server, we mean a client program that provides a user interface while most of the application logic resides in the server. If we were discussing hardware, then thin client would mean a lightweight network computer that may provide a screen, keyboard, pointing device, central processor, program memory, and possibly some local disk storage for caching and removable media such as a diskette drive.
